Build in 1890 by the Saddel and Skipness School Board,
the house was used as a school right up until the new
village school was built in the 1990's.
|
The rear of the house with the sheltered and sunny garden.
|
The rear garden is set to grass and flowerbeds and looks out
across fields to the sea and the Isle of Arran.
|
A view from the roof windows of the fields and hills behind the house.
|
The roof has been part-converted by flooring and the addition of roof windows.
|
The rest of the roofspace is pretty much untouched and requires
a fair amount of maintenance and repair carrying out.
|
Part of the unused void-space on the first floor.
|
We have big plans for this part of the house and hope to be able to preserve
the original ceiling mouldings and other period features.

A mile or so down the road is Carradale Harbour,
home to a handful of fishing boats. There are often
a couple of seals swimming around the harbour,
looking for scraps from the boats.
